Electronic evesdropping, fact or fiction? Is this something dreamed up by the producers of Mission Impossible?
Not so. Government agencies (ours and theirs) employ surveillance teams to routinely attempt to intercept signals radiating from building. The targets are public buildings but also private, such as financial institutions, and those involved with R&D and security matters. The scanners use private vehicles, often masked as tradesman’s vans and parked innocuously outside the premise and then begin scanning LAN networks for vulnerabilities. The capabilities even extend to reading the information shown on a screen. The ramifications are immediately obvious and the results can be catastrophic.
The good news is that there is a solution. It turns out that signals interception through glass is the easiest and by blocking that vulnerability the problem becomes substantially mitigated. Just as there are agencies that try to penetrate a defence, there are others who see to find ways of blocking the probes. Perfect Defence through our affiliation with Haverkamp and another technical agency can treat the glass with a special film that attenuates the signal to a point that scanning through glass is pre-empted. The film can be laminated to other films in a security laminate that combines the features of security film laminates with signals blocking ability.
